BOAT ROCKERZ 400 REVIEW- Best Budget Bluetooth Headphones ?
DESIGN AND BUILD
Boat Rockerz 400 are made up of plastic and are very light weight and comfortable. They look very clean and minimal. There is cushioning provided on both the earcups as well as the headband and Boat branding on the out part of the earcups.
The earcups are movable and adjustable side ways as well as there are levers provided to extend the height of the headphones according to different head sizes.
There are 3 buttons provided of the right earcup, the center one is for turning on and off the earphones as well as playing and pausing the music. The other two are for increasing and decreasing the volume as well as to skip the song. The buttons are easily accessible even when headphones rest on your head. Next to buttons is the USB charging port and you can charge the headphones via the USB cable provided inside the box. Next to it is microphone and the LED light indicator to indicate the status of the headphones.
They come in various colors and finishes and you can chose according to your preference.
COMFORT
These are very comfortable pair of headphones and provide a very good fit directly on the ears thus making them on the ear headphones.
When used for prolonged period of time they may feel uncomfortable as the ears starts to pain and also they get warm sometimes due to the rubberized material of the cushioning. And for someone with a bigger head size headphones might feel extra tight due to higher clamping force. But for majority they provide a very good fit even during runs or workouts but a thing to notice here is that these are not water resistant.
AUDIO QUALITY
The most important aspect to consider before buying headphones is the audio quality and the audio quality of boa rockerz 400 is very good according to its price. The sound is generally crisp and clear but at higher levels sound seems to distort a bit and it is very difficult to listen at high volumes as the sound is way to loud. Also these bleed a lot and person sitting next to you might even hear what is being played.
Apart from that the sound is very well balanced with proper instrument separation and well defined lows and mids.
CALL QUALITY
The call quality of these headphones is pretty terrible due to the poor quality of mic used and the noise cancellation is also very poor. You can use the headphones for calling purposes only indoors but it would be a very terrible experience as they will pick a lot of background noises and the sound won't be clear.
BATTERY LIFE
They have a very good battery life and they will last you for 8-9 hours and they take 2-2.5 hours to get fully charged. When the battery gets low you can connect them via the AUX cable provided in the box directly with the source and continue with your work in wired mode.
You can take these headphones on long journey and use them in wired or wireless mode as per the situation.
CONCLUSION
These are a budget headphones which offer a very good sound quality and are also light weight and comfortable. The battery life is also very good.
I would recommend it to casual audio listeners but can't recommend it for calling purposes.
These are available anywhere between INR 1000/- to 1500/- price point and you should look for offers and discount as it doesn't make any sense to buy them at full price.
