IPHONE 11 REVIEW- Is It Worth Buying in 2021

 Iphone 11, the phone which was launched in 2019 and quickly became the best selling smartphone of the year, does it still holds it's value in 2021 even when the latest iphone 12 has been launched in October, 2020 and Apple still selling the iphone Xr ? Read till the end to find out.

 To reach to that conclusion we will first look at various aspects of the phone which will help us in determining whether the phone is good or not. Let's begin with the design.

 Design

The iphone 11 has the same rounded edge design as that of iphone Xr and it can look a little bit outdated as compared to squared off edge design of latest iphone 12, but it totally depends upon your perception which one of them you like better and in my opinion both of the designs look great, clean and minimal. 

Display

Iphone 11 has a 6.1 inch LCD display or liquid retina display as Apple likes to call it. And this can be the biggest concern for anybody looking to buy an iphone 11 right now as this has a resolution of a little more than 720P and looks pretty mediocre on paper. But this in not the case in reality as the screen will only look inferior when compared side by side directly with another smartphone having an AMOLED panel. Yes, AMOLED has it's advantages such as the screen looks more sharper, it has deeper blacks and slightly higher resolution although when you use iphone 11 as your stand alone device as honestly most people are gonna use it anyway, one will realize that it has a very well built LCD panel which has great colors and contrast ratio thus the colors appearing more natural.

Another point to consider here is it's slightly thicker bezels and  a considerably bigger notch, however once you get used to it being present there, it will rarely hinder with your movie watching experience or gaming or at any other time you use your phone in full screen mode.

  Battery life 

It is safe to say that the battery life of the iphone 11 is excellent as it will easily last you a full day even after high extensive usage and if you are a low to medium usage person this might even last you a day and a half thanks to its great standby time. So if you are watching movies or playing games you won't have to worry much regarding the battery life of the phone, also iphone 11 supports wireless charging as well as fast charging however you are not gonna get either of those out of the box and you have to purchase them separately.I would recommend you to charge your phone daily to maintain its battery life and prevent it from dying on you.

  Cameras

The biggest selling point in my opinion of an Iphone is the superb quality of it's cameras and it's no different with Iphone 11.

It has a total of three cameras, one front facing selfie camera and two at the back namely wide and ultra wide and I think Apple went with a safer route here by not replacing the ultra wide with a telephoto camera as most people are gonna need ultra wide lens more than the telephoto in most scenarios. A new feature added to Iphone 11 was the night mode feature with which you can now even click great pictures in low light or at the night. The night mode is triggered automatically by the sensor when it detects low light however you can manage the exposure or the amount of light it takes before clicking your shot. Another improved feature is the portrait mode and this time one can also click portrait shots of non human beings thanks to additional camera at the back and the portrait shots are great it general however sometimes the algorithm fails in correctly detecting the edges of the subject in focus and end up blurring some part of the subject as well.

The video capturing capabilities of the Iphone are considered to be industry leading and with Iphone 11 you can record some great quality 4K videos with excellent optical image stabilization.Also it has various different modes such as Time Lapse,live photos, slow mo videos etc and you can now even click slow mo videos with the front facing camera. Both the hardware and the software combine to produce some great looking shots with very well balanced HDR and more natural looking photos which will help you in capturing some great memories.  

Software

Which brings us to software and what inside the phone which makes the experience of owing an iphone so smooth yet so amazing. Iphone 11 has A13 bionic chip inside and with the latest IOS 14 support it creates a very good and optimized user experience.Even if you are watching movies, playing games or binge watching your favorite TV shows even for a long period of time, you will not notice any lagging or slow downs or any heating issue with the phone. And thanks to it's great RAM management the phone feels super fast and responsive.

The best thing with IOS is it's long term software support and  this phone will easily get new updates for alt least three to four more years. My iphone 6s was launched in 2015 and still runs on the latest IOS 14.

Conclusion

Now the time for the main question, is Iphone 11 still worth it? And my answer would be a YES, and I would totally recommend to anybody planning to buy an Iphone right now.The biggest reason for this is it's sweet price point of 52000/- in India and you can even get it for a lot cheaper with offers and discounts that third parties such as Amazon and Flipkart offers during sale and holidays.

With all those amazing features we just discussed, this phone will give you an amazing experience for at least three to four more years to come, yes it might miss some bells and whistles, it still is a great phone for an average consumer and yes it lacks support for 5G but to be really honest 5G would take a long time to be accessible to majority of people especially in India and is very limited at this point of time plus the cellular capabilities of this phone are too good with higher network bandwidth and high internet speed.
