SAMSUNG GALAXY UNPACKED EVENT- My impressions and everything you should know.

 Samsung kicked off the year 2021 with their latest flagship smartphones lineup and launched 3 phones namely:

S21: 6.2'' model starting at INR 69999/-

S21+ : 6.7'' model starting at INR 81999/-

S21 Ultra : 6.8'' model starting at INR 105999/-

They have also announced pro version of galaxy buds and they cost INR 15990/-

A new product was also unveiled by samsung calles the smart tag. It is basically a tracking device whose function is to locate things with which it is attached to via your smartphone.



S21 LINEUP

All the models in the lineup have a dynamic AMOLED display with hole punched cutout for selfie camera. They also have an improved version of under the screen finger print sensor by Qualcomm.

 The display comes with a variable refresh rate option up to 120HZ. Samsung have also added a eye comfort shield with the displays.

The resolution of the screen on S21 and S21+ is only 1080p whereas S21 ultra comes with a QHD+ screen.

S21 and S21+ comes in three color options: phantom violet, phantom black and phantom silver. Personally I like the phantom one the best.

S21 ultra on the other hand have only 2 color options: phantom black and phantom silver.

CAMERAS

S21 and S21 plus have a total of 4 cameras:

  • 10MP front facing selfie camera 
  • 12MP wide camera
  • 12MP ultra wide camera
  • 64MP telephoto camera
S21 ultra have 5 cameras:
  • 40MP front facing selfie camera
  • 108MP wide camera with auto laser focus sensor
  • 12MP ultra wide camera
  • 10MP telephoto camera 3X
  • 10MP telephoto camera 10X

Samsung have introduced 8K recording feature which is first in any smartphone with super smooth mode for better stabilization and also improved the zoom capabilities.  

BATTERY

S21: 4000mah

S21+: 4800mah

S21ultra: 5000mah

All the phones support super fast charging, fast wireless charging 2.0 and powershare which let's you charge some other device or galaxy buds with your smartphone. 

One thing to note here is that the box of the smartphones doesn't include a charging brick and you have to purchase it separately if you don't already have one.

PROCESSOR AND STORAGE

All phones in the lineup have samsung's latest processor which is Exynos 2100, which is a lot faster from previous generation and should give you much better performance in terms of speed and efficiency.The overall experience should feel a lot smoother and better.

S21 and S21+ models have 8gb of RAM with storage options of 128gb or 256gb.

S21 Ultra has RAM options of 12gb or 16gb and storage options of 128gb, 256gb or 512gb.

Samsung have also removed the option of expandable storage from this year's phones. 

Samsung have also added the support of S pen with S21ultra model but it will be an accessory to the phone and you will have to purchase it separately.  


GALAXY BUDS PRO

The buds pro comes with active noise cancellation and you can chose the ANC levels according to the need. They have a 2 way speaker system which will give a studio like experience and 360 degree audio which is enabled via dolby head tracking and it also supports dolby atmos.

They have a battery life of 5 hours and will give extra 13 hours with its wireless charging case which also supports fast charging.

They are also water and dust resistant and comes in same color options as the S21 lineup.

They also have music sharing capabilities with individual bud acting as one entity. Extra ear buds will also be provide of different fit and sizes.

CONCLUSION

All the products look very stylish and futuristic. There have been many improvements in comparison  with previous generation models. Although there have also been some downgrades with respect to the screen resolution of S21 and S21+ models.Also the plastic back of S21 doesn't look good in comparison with other models.But in general these phone look pretty amazing and should provide you a great experience with great value for your money.
